MEET YOUR NEIGHBOUR
π
(Or Spot Them in a Canoe!)
Okay, this week it’s less meet your neighbour and more maybe you’ll see your neighbour —because the 2025 Raisin River Canoe Race photo gallery just dropped, and it’s overflowing with smiles, splashes, and some very soaked paddlers. π£βοΈ πΈ
Whether you were in the race, cheering from the shore, or just love a good local photo op, head over to the RRCA’s official gallery and see if you can spot a familiar face (or paddle). You never know—your neighbour might just be the one grinning ear-to-ear after braving McIntosh Rapids.

If you find yourself (or someone you know), let us know—we love to share those “hey, that’s me!” moments in future issues!
WHERE TO GRAB A BITE

Scoops, Swings & Summer Things at Archie’s

Archie’s officially opened on April 23rd!
Cornwall’s not-quite-summer until Archie’s opens for the season—and that day is April 23rd ! π
Serving up smiles (and serious scoops) since 1955 , Archie’s is the place where nostalgia meets Neapolitan . From towering cones to creamy classics, their Old Fashioned Ice Cream Shop is a rite of passage for every local sweet tooth.
But don’t stop at dessert—hit the driving range , try your luck on the mini-putt course , or challenge the grandkids to a swing-off on the 6-hole practice green. It’s fun, it’s local, and it’s one of those places that just feels like summer. βοΈβ³
So grab your shades, bring your appetite, and let Archie’s be your go-to spot for frozen treats and family laughs this season!
THROWBACK CORNER

Downtown Cruisin’

What year do you think this photo was taken?
Take a look at this gem! This snapshot of downtown Cornwall is packed with iconic storefronts, classic cars, and some serious vintage style. Anyone else spotting Zeller’s , Woolworth , and a sea of chrome bumpers? And yep—that tall building in the back? That’s the one we still know today as the CIBC building .
But here’s the fun part...
Can you guess what year this photo was taken?
(We actually don’t know but would love to!)
We love digging into Cornwall’s past—and if you’ve got a photo, memory, or old story to share, hit reply and send it our way. You just might see it in a future Scoop!
PET OF THE WEEK
πΎ
Meet Yoda – Ears for Days!

One-year-old Yoda
Meet Yoda , the one-year-old German Shepherd who’s serving major ear energy . πΈ Her ears are so gloriously tall, we had to go vertical just to fit them in the frame!
But Yoda’s not just ears—she’s got a heart just as big and is looking for a patient, loving family to help her settle into her forever home. She’s young, full of potential, and just waiting to share her loyal, Shepherd heart with someone special.
Want to meet her (and her magnificent ears) in person?

Led by the dedicated Chef Greg, this initiative is a shining example of how local hands can make a meaningful difference.

JUST FOR FUN
β°
Games Corner – Did you know?
Tick-tock, trivia time! β°
Cornwall’s Clock Tower in Lamoureux Park isn’t just a pretty face—it’s a replica of the original that once stood tall on the old Post Office at Second and Pitt Streets. The Post Office came down in 1955 , but the clock itself lives on! It was lovingly repurposed in the 1992 rebuild we see today.
Now every time you stroll past it, you can impress your walking buddy with a little local time-travel trivia!
